I worked with the Continental Construction team on The Pearl project in Austin that completed several years ago. I was the Vice President of Construction for Ledcor Development at the time.

Matthew Ostrowski was the Executive in charge and managed the project expertly. Jason Haug was the Superintendent and oversaw the field. It was a tough project, where we had several failing Subcontractors which we had to manage and take over their work. Both Matthew and Jason did a great job hiring and managing other crews directly to mitigate and maintain the quality and schedule we needed. They have deep relationships with most of the key subcontractors in the region, and are well respected, which was a huge benefit.

Additionally, we were midway through the project when the Covid Pandemic occurred, and they steered us through that period. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without them and I credit them with turning the project around and successfully completing it. The project ended up being a big success.

We had a great experience. I work in the construction industry with a lot of companies, and I don’t meet many individuals like Matthew that truly care about the project.

We built right in the middle of COVID and had excellent communication throughout the process. It is a walk out basement type of construction, which is not typical in this market.

His superintendents were knowledgeable and directed the trades effectively on site.

I worked very closely with Matthew and Jason at Continental on our project at 2206 Nueces in Austin. This is a 24 story, 1000 bed student housing property in the West Campus neighborhood of Austin that was completed in August of 2023. Suffice it to say that we very likely would have missed our completion of this enormous project were it not for the skill and dedication of Matthew, Jason and the Continental Team.

Matthew provided critical logistical support and leadership across the board on this project, while Jason insured job site activities kept pace with scheduling to insure we hit our completion date.

In fact, we are continuing to work with Continental on an as needed basis for issues that arise in the building due to their intimate familiarity with the property. They’ve proven incredibly supportive whenever and wherever we have needed their assistance – long after our formal contract has ended. A testament to their integrity and strong work ethic.
